Through our Women-Led Climate Resilience Program, we supported 30 vulnerable women with cash transfers while equipping them with climate-smart farming and vertical gardening skills — restoring livelihoods, enhancing food security, and strengthening community resilience to climate change.

Transitioning to Vertical Gardening

With land sizes shrinking and rainfall patterns becoming increasingly unpredictable, vertical gardening bags offer an innovative solution. They are space- and water-efficient growing methods ideal for land-constrained households.

  • High space efficiency using multi-layered bags
  • 80% water savings compared to traditional row planting
  • Direct food security and cash crops (kale, spinach, onions)
  • Livelihood Restoration Outcomes

The combination of training, seeds, and direct cash-transfer support has allowed these women to translate environmental knowledge into immediate income-generating activities. Most participants are now harvesting vegetables daily, reducing household feeding costs, and selling the surplus at local community dialogue forums.

We look forward to scaling this initiative to support more households by late 2026.
