How We Measure Breakthroughs
At The Barrier Breakers, impact is not just about tree seedlings dropped into the soil. It is about seedling survival rates, watershed protection stability, smallholder farm outputs, and shifts in youth environmental literacy.
By focusing on school mentorships and training local "tree champions", we ensure that trees planted are protected and nurtured. Our vertical gardening program for women provides cash-transfer resource buffers that make climate adaptation economically viable.
"We work to replace environmental barriers with community breakthroughs, establishing ecological protection as a pathway to livelihood resilience."
Since 2017, we have scaled our initiatives, reaching 15,000+ students across 30 schools in Kenya. Our community dialogue forums and school mentorship networks build local environmental literacy, ensuring restoration gains are secured for generations to come.
